Alf Sture and Gunnvor Een Sture
Alf Sture was a pioneer in Norwegian furniture design, known for his ability to unite form and functionality in a way that has shaped Scandinavian design for several decades.
Like her husband, Gunnvor Een Sture trained as a designer, and together they founded a design office in 1952. While Gunnvor also contributed to the furniture design, it is above all the textiles, among other interior elements, that stand out as distinctly her contribution.
Together, the couple Alf and Gunnvor Een Sture created timeless furniture, textiles, and interiors that have found their place in Norwegian homes and institutions, as well as in national exhibitions.

Our Approach
Sture Design holds the design rights to Alf and Gunnvor Een Sture. In 2021, we, their grandchildren, took over its stewardship — carrying forward and renewing their work through new designs, wider exposure, and new partnerships, while keeping a living presence in Norwegian design today. Alongside that, we highlight their role in the progressive design culture of the post-war era through exclusive archival material.
